When
I first learned to play winning Blackjack, I was very much
afraid of getting detected as a winning player and being
barred. I began to feel anxious every time I sat down at
the table. Many other players have admitted to me that they
feel the same way.
Do not be afraid of getting barred. They will only bar you
if they cannot cheat you. If you have been losing lately,
you have no risk whatsoever. Out of the millions of gamblers
who have played Blackjack in the past fifteen years, only
several hundred are barred. If you are a good enough player
to avoid being cheated and win openly and consistently,
then you might begin to worry about it. If you don't win
openly, your chances of getting barred are practically 0.
Do what many players do: Adopt a spy mentality. Spies are
unobtrusive. They don't bother anybody. They are quiet and
polite. They look like the natives, dress like the natives,
and talk like the natives. They never stand out. They pretend
to have the same values as the natives. The men like money
and women. They follow at least one sport and are up on
politics. The women are giggly and nervous, raving about
the shows.
Spies are well trained for their job. They are so well trained,
the training never shows. They look casual, but the brain
is functioning at a very rapid rate. They are aware of everything
around them at all times. They use their training, experience,
and determination to get the jab done. The job is to win
money in a casino steadily and smoothly for a long time.
There are many techniques you can use to camouflage your
play so as not to get barred. The major ways the casino
identifies systems "spies" is usually from the
way they appear, the way they bet, or because they tip off
that they are counting. All of the suggestions listed in
this section are designed to make you seem like just another
gambler, happily giving your money to the casino.
